Brazilian Wax Q&A

With bikini season here, some of us are thinking about getting a bikini wax or perhaps a Brazilian wax.

Here are a few common question about it

Let start with the most common question of them all, does it hurt?

Yes, getting a Brazilian wax for the first time does hurt a lot. On a scale from 1 to 10 depending on your pain tolerance I would say 10. However, after  a few visit it’s no longer as painful.

What is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian wax as opposed to a bikini wax is the removal of EVERYTHING! Whereas with a bikini wax the area near your thighs are waxed.

How often should I get a Brazilian wax?

Typically every 3 to 4 weeks would be best. The hair should be 1/4 inch long.

Anything that I can do to miniziae the pain?

Unfortunately, no! There is topical numbing lotion but sometimes they don’t work as effectively. My advice would be to feel comfortable and engage in conversation with your wax specialist. This will help get your mind of what is going on. Of course, it’s so important that the wax specialist knows what they are doing and does it as quickly as possible, typically the session last about 20 minutes.

Any suggestions on where to go?

European wax center, they have locations all across the country. The cost for a Brazilian wax I believe is $54. They use hard wax, which means it adheres to your hairs not the skin and can be pulled without needing a cloth. Most importantly, they do NOT DOUBLE DIP! Click here to check out their website and see their nearest location for your area.

Anything that I should know after the wax?

I would suggest the Ingrown hair serum below because it has Glycol which helps to exfoliate the skin. The serum will also help to prevent ingrown hairs. A little goes a long way, and it’s applied twice daily.

Lastly, a Brazilian wax is just another option of waxing and not for everyone. So here is another option I want to share with you.  These little bikini razors that are honestly perfect to shave that area. I have also done a review for Nad’s which is product that specialize in at home waxing, I have done a review which you can read here or check out a video tutorial by clicking here on how to wax at home. I hope you enjoyed this post, leave a comment or question.
