The right red lipstick can make you feel put together in seconds! The color red is an exciting color and draws attention. It’s the color of passion, love and confidence. Without a doubt there is something striking when a woman wears red. Yet, finding your signature red lipstick might be a challenge. Before we dive into these 50 shades of red, let’s first talk about the undertone of the red you choose. You might ask what is the undertone and why is it important?
Your Skins Undertone
If you have a warm/olive undertone than reds with a warm or orange hint would look the best on you. A way to find out what your undertone is, would be to take a look at your veins. If they appear green then you have a warm undertone. On the flip side if your veins look blue, then a red with blue/cool undertone would look best. A side note, a blue based red lipstick will also make your teeth look whiter since blue offsets yellow. If you can’t tell or your veins appear to have a little bit of both, then your undertone is neutral. Which means you are in luck because both undertones will look good on you!!
Make Up Is Meant To Be Fun
But these are makeup guidelines and in the end, makeup is supposed to be fun! I have a warm undertone but wear lipsticks with both undertones in different times of the year. In the winter, I prefer blue based red and in the summer I like a red with an orange hint to it.
