At last we are entering the Summer Solstice! It’s a lovely time of year to dine Al Fresco, dress in lighter clothes and wear less makeup. Since the temperature is rising, it’s the best time to let your skin shine and apply less makeup. But if you want to go full GLAM…the last thing you want is your makeup melting off!! Prep The Skin With Moisturizer
Hydrating the skin will create a good base for the products to follow. If you have oily skin use Cerave Oil controlling Moisturizer. If you are more on the drier side, check out Elf Holy Hydration. Both have SPF so you get sun protection and hydration in one product. Allow some time for your skin to absorb the moisturizer before moving on to the next step.
Apply Primer
Primer will help the foundation stick to the skin and last longer. Elf Poreless Putty Primer is infused with squalane for optimal hydration and works well on all skin types.
Add The Star Of The Show
Cover Fx Power Play foundation, this foundation is a must for summer time! It’s waterproof, sweat-proof and transfer-proof. Easy On The Eyes But Make It Melt Proof
Less is more when it comes to eye makeup during hot weather. No matter the look you are going for, make sure all the products are waterproof!
Powder Eye Shadows are a “no” since they can come off with sweat. Instead use a cream shadow stick like this one from Laura Mercier.
If you are using eyeliner use a gel one it stays way longer, this one from Smashbox stays put even in water!!!
As for Mascara, I am not a fan of water-proof ones. They are hard to take off, but for all day events that are outdoors, they will be your BFF. Check out this one from Eyeko, which is 100 % waterproof. It uses Thixotropical Gel formulation which repels water.
Lip Color With Staying Power
Adding a lip color to any makeup look, will change the look of the makeup especially if you went light on the eyes. If you want staying power, use Revlon Colorstay! An OG lip product that I had forgotten about until a friend reminded me!
Seal It All
Seal everything in with the beauty world’s cult favorite Urban Decay All Nighter. Mist the foundation brush or beauty sponge with the spray before applying any foundation. This will make it waterproof for even longer wear. All nighter will help everything stay in place and not melt away!
